The Affinity will bring together complementary uses, connect to the surrounding community and create a more walkable area centered near public transit.
The design embraces the historic buildings onsite. The two historic buildings fronting the Arroyo Parkway will be preserved and rehabilitated for commercial uses, and the Whole Foods Market located on the northern end of the property will be maintained and continue to serve the community.
In addition, the project will include outdoor areas for dining and recreation, balconies and verandas, an outdoor loggia, a rooftop courtyard, and new street trees and landscaping throughout the site. The commercial/retail space will accommodate uses such as cafes designed to activate the streetscape as well as uses to serve residents, patients, staff and visitors.
“When a developer with a track record of respectful, right-sized, historically sensitive projects, such as this company, seeks approval – I am very confident, and offer my support.”
